Appliance City began trading the 1980s, supplying the UK with quality electronic brands at modest prices. Over 25 years later, they are one of the biggest appliance retailers in the country but they still keep an eye on their competitors' prices in order to give customers the best deal.

They're based just outside Nottingham, but if you don't live locally you can still view their showroom via the website.

Want to buy now and receive later? No problem. Appliance City understands that you might not have the storage space until you've moved or had the kitchen done so they're happy to hold the goods at their warehouse with a small deposit. This secures your order until you're ready to pay the balance. They are also able to take your old appliances away for recycling.

Delivery Information

Appliance City offers free standard delivery, which takes one to four working days. This service allows you to choose a delivery day so you know when to wait in, and on the day before delivery they'll call you with a four-hour timeslot so you've got some time to run errands as well. On the day, they'll call you an hour before they arrive to let you know that they're on their way.

Larger items like American-style fridge freezers take a little bit of extra work to deliver because they aren't able to fit into the property without some dismantling; for this, they offer comprehensive premium delivery for £14.99.

There is an express pallet delivery service which is £19.99. This will provide next working day delivery for items ordered before 2pm. Appliance City will email you the number for the transport company and you just call them on the morning of delivery to get a timeslot.

Due to limited space in their warehouse, Appliance City occasionally needs to order items from the manufacturer which can delay the delivery time but they will always let you know.

Returns Policy

You can return unused items up to 14 days after you receive them, unless they have been personalised for you. You simply have to send a cancellation notice to Appliance City and they will send you a cancellation form in return. They will process your refund within 14 days of receiving your item.

Appliance City can collect the goods that are still in their original packaging but they do charge a collection fee, which is calculated according to the size of the item and your location.

If the packaging has been opened or tampered with, you are required to return items yourself but Appliance City is not responsible for any fees incurred. They recommend that you send items by recorded delivery and insure them against damage in transit; if items are lost or damaged before they reach Appliance City, your refund may be delayed or denied.

On Review Centre, they have 4.9 out of 5 stars with consistent good feedback for communication, quality of website and value for money; 98.9% of users would recommend them. Feefo carries rankings of 95% and 97% for Appliance City's service and products respectively.

Appliance City is committed to protecting your data and they will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your data is secure. All payment transactions through their Verisign system are stored on encrypted servers with SSL technology.

The company's website is ISIS and IDIS compliant to protect your security and if they suspect that anyone is fraudulently using your card to order goods (for instance, if someone chooses a delivery address that is different to the card address), they will carry out security checks with the bank to ensure the transaction is genuine before taking any money out of your account.
